Volunteer Teams

Ethiopia Guest Home exists to benefit the cause of the orphan in Ethiopia. As such, we welcome volunteer teams several times throughout the year and can host teams as large as 50 people. As my wife and I have done mission work in over 10 different countries on 5 continents and our goal for volunteer teams is to create a turn-key experience that allows teams to focus on the real reason they have come to Ethiopia.

Our approach to volunteer teams is not to cut corners, but to spend the time, energy and finances to ensure groups are equipped to be as effective as possible. An example of this is found in both of our professionally trained chefs. With a premium on food safety, we make sure that no one gets sick from our food, which could cut in to precious time on a short-term trip.

 

Teams stay in bunk-style lodging with all the bells and whistles that adoptive families enjoy...including professional massage! With breakfast and a boxed-lunch included, teams are able to spend as much time as possible with the ministries, non-profits, orphanages, transition homes, hospitals, villages, churches, and individuals whom they have come to serve.

 

In preparation for your trip, we are glad to help connect you and your organization with a number of projects and people in need whom have huge hearts for the cause of the orphan, at-risk women and children, and impoverished communities…and whom also have demonstrated financial responsibility.

We are glad to arrange in-country transportation for your team, dinner reservations, and areas of interest. We have actually arranged for donkey rides/races for past teams who enjoyed a timeout for laughs!

Overall, our goal is not to become a short term sending organization, but to empower those whom are already doing so to be able to do what they do even better. As a result, your group may have all the details and simply need a place to stay. Other teams may need assistance with a daily schedule, opportunities to serve, and transportation needs. We are glad to provide as much or as little help as needed.
